We're introduced to Ryotsu Kankichi, a police officer who works in a police box in Kameari, a district in Tokyo. However, today he's late for work and is racing there on his bicycle in order to make it there on time. A new recruit is starting at the police box today, going by the name of Keiichi Nakagawa. He is the rich heir to the Nakagawa corporation, and as such he wears a custom-made designer-brand uniform. He also collects guns and is shown to be a fan of American action movies like Dirty Harry. For his first task as a police officer, him and Ryotsu attempt to give an old man directions to a restaurant. However, this man can't recall what the name of the place is, only having a drawing he drew in elementary school as a clue.
