A prison guard begins a tentative romance with the unsuspecting widow of a man whose execution he presided over.

A man who is paranoid and deluded by his own conspiracies that someone out there is after him must come to terms with the root of his suffering.

On the one hand, there’s the desert eating away at the land. The endless dry season, the lack of water. On the other there’s the threat of war. The village well has run dry. The livestock is dying. Trusting their instinct, most of the villagers leave and head south. Rahne, the only literate one, decides to head east with his three children and Mouna, his wife. Soledad is a young woman who returns to her grandmother's house after years of having cut off communication with her family. She wants to connect with nature, her family's spiritual practices and her sister with whom she never developed a relationship. At the same time she is looking for a way to heal the duel of her mother's death years ago. Soledad will realize that the process is long and exhausting and will lead her to reconnect with the people around her and herself.

Newly-paroled former US Army ranger Cameron Poe is headed back to his wife, but must fly home aboard a prison transport flight dubbed "Jailbird" taking the “worst of the worst” prisoners, a group described as “pure predators”, to a new super-prison. Poe faces impossible odds when the transport plane is skyjacked mid-flight by the most vicious criminals in the country led by the mastermind — genius serial killer Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom, and backed by black militant Diamond Dog and psychopath Billy Bedlam.

A successful and married black man contemplates having an affair with a white girl from work. He's quite rightly worried that the racial difference would make an already taboo relationship even worse.

In the slums of the upper West Side of Manhattan, tensions are high as a gang of Polish-Americans compete against a gang of recently immigrated Puerto Ricans, but this doesn't stop two romantics from each gang falling in love.
