David Huxley is waiting to get a bone he needs for his museum collection. Through a series of strange circumstances, he meets Susan Vance, and the duo have a series of misadventures which include a leopard called Baby.

Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends—Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo—have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. This is a film about the movie industry, about favors, hooking up etc. It is mostly set in Copenhagen and the story begins with the son of a big producer going to Copenhagen from Hong Kong trying to seal a deal. He gets involved with the Denmark girls.
