Sent by his parents to study kung fu at the Shaolin temple, folk hero Fong Sai Yuk (Bo Wa Shut) is taught by the finest fighters in the land and must prove himself to a particularly tough instructor in Part 1 of this two-part tale. The young student eventually enters a competition and, in a classic scene, fights off hundreds of monks in the "Swastika Formation." Wing-Ha Chan, Hung-Man Do and Gwok Leung also star in this martial arts extravaganza.

Eric and Kurt Sloane are the descendants of a well-known Venice, California-based family of martial artists. Kurt has always been in older brother, Eric's shadow, as he lacks the instincts needed to become a champion. Against Kurt's concerns, Eric accepts a paid offer and travels to Thailand to challenge the Muay Thai champion Tong Po and fails with dire consequences. Kurt sets out for revenge. Rather than adapt a later or create a new Oz story, this production has Dorothy still in posession of the shoes, and she clings to an apple tree during a tornado which takes her back to Oz. The Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Lion (using the names created for the nearly-abstract television series, Tales of the Wizard of Oz, from which this was derived) have had their MGM gifts destroyed by the restored Wicked Witch, and the four proceed to the Wizard for help, who is ineffectual as usual.
