Lacy, a career-driven business woman, goes to a B&B in Illinois at the advice of a new therapist. There she finds herself stuck in a mystical, small Christmas town, reliving the same day over and over. Lacy must figure out how to escape.

A STRING OF BLUE BEADS is a slight little Christmas tale that was a pilot for an anthology series of short stories that never came to be. What makes this little film fascinating is it was one of the earliest color broadcasts on television and happily is one of the few early color productions for TV that can be seen in color now. Early color television productions seem to have had a limited color capability much like the early 1930's attempts at Technicolor. This actually adds to the charm of this little Christmas story giving in an "old time" feel.

When four student filmmakers are paid half-a-million dollars to look for ghosts on Boney Island, they assume it'll be the easiest weekend of their lives. All except Madeleine, whose belief in ghosts puts her in direct conflict with the other skeptical slackers. It doesn't take long for the others wonder if it'd be easier (and more lucrative) to oust her out of the project. But as tensions and temptations of greed boil over, a paranormal presence, unseen and unnoticed, begins to grow stronger and stronger, forcing the group to violently and brutally confront their own disbelief, one way or the other.
