Greatly enjoyed the raucous, absurd humor in this film. It explores different aspects of humor, humanity, and art through a surrealist, comedy lens via each sketch. Not a film for the faint of heart, but greatly rewarding if this is your cup of tea. Never seen a comedy film shot so beautifully and cinematically, with great attention to detail and artistry.
Bonkers. Absolutely bonkers in the best way. If you’re looking for something different, something hilarious, and something genuinely surprising, look no further. This hidden gem delivers. Highly recommend!
I was eating a very soft, creamy cheese kind of like mascapone but it was something I got at the farmers market and I can't remember the name. But I had a mouth full of it and boy it hurt when I laughed so hard it came out my nose. This is one of the most inspired, hilarious sketch comedy shows I've ever seen. Every sketch is wildly different but they're tied together with a common thread of pushing it to the absolute limit. They take huge swings and hit a ton of homers. Check this out if you want something fresh. Check it out if you like dumb ideas executed in hilarous and original ways. Check it out if you like an ensemble cast of diverse actors risking it all and slamming dunks.
If Al Gore was still with us (or is he still with us? Either way) he should do a documentary on this movie because people have to know the truth - that Kid Cactus is amazing. I've never heard of these guys but What is Art is clearly a masterpiece. I've never seen sketch comedy like this before. It has hints of I Think You Should Leave and Tim & Eric, but it's also so different at the same time. I can't get enough and have already watched it twice. The rewatch value is superb. I can't wait to see what Kid Cactus does in the future. I will definitely watch anything they make. If you're looking for a quick, hilarious, jaw dropingly surprising comedy, watch this film WHAT IS ART!
'What Is Art' is an absolute gem of a comedy that had me in stitches from start to finish. Directed by brilliant minds, this film effortlessly weaves together humor, wit, and thought-provoking commentary on the nature of creativity. The cast's performances were top-notch, with each actor bringing their A-game and delivering impeccable comedic timing. The writing was sharp and clever, filled with hilarious one-liners and memorable moments. The entire production team deserves applause for their exceptional work in creating a visually stunning and aesthetically pleasing film. 'What Is Art' is an absolute delight, a must-watch for any comedy lover.
Kid cactus has been sweeping the nation for the past couple of years and boy did they deliver once again with "What is Art". You'll be laughing one minute and crying another, maybe even pooping yourself! The animation, music, and quality of sketches are all TOP class. The characters and situations are both absurd and absolutely hilarious. The sketches always seem to take a turn that your weren't expecting. I didn't realize I could laugh for an hour straight until I watched this! If you haven't watched it yet stop what you are doing immediately and get to it! It will be the best money you ever spent!
Mamma Mia! What else can I say other than this is a spicy meat-a-ball! Has anyone else heard of this?! I want to talk with someone about it - so good so worth the money
A bizarre sense of humor combined with beautiful cinematography and editing leads to a uniquely hilarious train ride, as if your brain was the tracks and this film was the train running wild all over it, speeding through, ripping around your synapses, and with each turn you’re not sure if it’s going to derail, but you can’t look away, and then you want to watch it again to make sure it wasn’t all just an amazing fever dream. Unique skits sewn together with hilariously weird animation that is so damn cool and unique. The acting was great, and the skits well executed, and the editing clean. I wish that my name was Matt so I had a chance of meeting them on the Mattchelor.
What a journey this was… So many perfect twists and turns at unexpected moments, I spit my water out on multiple occasions and there wasn’t a cup in sight. These guys flaunted their original humor and cinematography with different animations, jokes and flat out absurdities. They don’t seem to shy away from any avenue of how to director, produce and act comedically and really show you what the sketch world should look like with all the unique elements. This is a great watch when you just want to be put in a good and enjoy many belly laughs. Looking forward to the next one. I can’t recommend it enough!
In a surreal universe where bananas fire laser beams and soup cans are used as grenades, a wacky cast of gangsters are thrown into a deadly game to battle it out over a mystical longboard in this trippy take on the Tarantino crime genre.
A publishing executive is visited and bitten by a vampire and starts exhibiting erratic behavior. He pushes his secretary to extremes as he tries to come to terms with his affliction.
It ain't easy bein' green - especially if you're a likable (albeit smelly) ogre named Shrek. On a mission to retrieve a gorgeous princess from the clutches of a fire-breathing dragon, Shrek teams up with an unlikely compatriot - a wisecracking donkey.
A hard-nosed cop reluctantly teams up with a wise-cracking criminal temporarily paroled to him, in order to track down a killer.
A young bride's wedding night turns into her worst nightmare when her ridiculously rich in-laws force her to play a gruesome game of hide-in-seek.
Renowned oceanographer Steve Zissou has sworn vengeance upon the rare shark that devoured a member of his crew. In addition to his regular team, he is joined on his boat by Ned, a man who believes Zissou to be his father, and Jane, a journalist pregnant by a married man. They travel the sea, all too often running into pirates and, perhaps more traumatically, various figures from Zissou's past, including his estranged wife, Eleanor.
An actor tempts fate when he convinces a legendary, but loose-cannon, theater director out of retirement to give a masterclass at a drama school.
When a childless couple-an ex-con and an ex-cop-decide to help themselves to one of another family's quintuplets, their lives become more complicated than they anticipated.
Created in response to a traumatic hate crime, artist, Venus Patel, explores her emotional journey through several archetypes, each of whom perform with an egg. Using the weapon of the assailant, the egg itself becomes a tool with many psychological and symbolic meanings within it. The power of reincarnation, birth, nature, hope while also pointing to the power it has to utterly humiliate and embarrass if used in a certain way. There is an embrace of the absurdity of these performances while still speaking to the deeper subject matter. By placing the outlandish characters into public spaces, they confront a preconceived notion of pushing true queer expression into only hidden spaces or only at night, into the daylight and into the normal everyday experience.
Hunter Biden lives a lifestyle of parties and corruption when he meets stripper Grace Anderson, who learns more about American politics as she gets closer and closer to the president's son.
