Media Television was a Canadian television newsmagazine series, which aired weekly on Citytv from 1991 to 2004. It was also syndicated internationally, airing in over 100 countries around the world at some point during its run.
The show, subtitled "The Modern Art and Science of Persuasion", offered a behind the scenes examination of the worlds of media, marketing, technology, the internet, print, radio, and television.
It was one of the first syndicated programs to employ a videographer whose role was as camera, interviewer, and host all rolled into one. Media Television's primary contribution was its unique examination of worldwide advertising in an intelligent manner.

Fourth Reading was a weekly current events newsmagazine series in Canada, airing on TVOntario from 1992 to 2006. It was hosted by Steve Paikin. The show covered provincial politics in Ontario and national political issues affecting the province.
Its name derived from the parliamentary convention that a bill receives three readings in a legislative house before becoming law; media coverage would therefore constitute a "fourth reading".
In 1997, Minister of Education John Snobelen was being interviewed on a Thursday afternoon, for the show that would air the Friday night. During this interview, then-Premier Mike Harris announced a cabinet shuffle in which Snobelen became the Minister of Natural Resources.

News Central was a primetime newscast on Sinclair television stations in the United States, mixing locally produced news with nationally produced news and an opinion segment from Sinclair's Hunt Valley, Maryland studios. News Central ended all newscasts effective March 31, 2006, which, after that date, its stations either did their newscasts entirely on their own, outsourced their newscast to a larger station in the market, or cancelled their newscasts entirely. Others, like WSMH, teamed up with non-affiliate stations in their market to either simulcast other stations' newscasts, or produce a news program in conjunction of the two stations. WYZZ and WUHF went into LMAs with other stations in their markets.
News Central still produces a one-minute national news brief for Sinclair stations, called Washington Newsroom, and formerly produced their nightly The Point commentary until it ended after the November 30, 2006 edition. It also provides weather updates and forecasts during national morning news programs on select Sinclair stations that are void of local weather staff, including WTWC in Tallahassee, Florida, and WXLV-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina. The segments feature weather anchor Tony Pagnotti.

Inside Washington, formerly Agronsky & Co., is a political roundtable show hosted by the WJLA news presenter and chief political reporter Gordon Peterson. It is produced by Allbritton, owner of WJLA, and distributed to PBS stations nationwide by American Public Television. In each broadcast, Peterson has four panelists discussing their opinions on political topics that are in the news during the week, and occasionally will bring in a fifth panelist or guest journalist via a satellite television feed.

Undercurrents was a Canadian television newsmagazine series in the 1990s, hosted by Wendy Mesley.
The series, which first aired in 1994, primarily concentrated on investigative and documentary reports about media and technology, such as examining media coverage of controversial issues. Mesley won two Gemini Awards for her work on Undercurrents, in 1999 and 2001.
In 2001, Undercurrents was folded into the new series CBC News: Disclosure, cohosted by Mesley and Diana Swain. The new show did not continue to discuss the media or technology, much to the disappointment of loyal Undercurrents viewers.

Canada AM is a Canadian breakfast television news show, that has aired on CTV since September 11, 1972. It is currently hosted by Beverly Thomson and Marci Ien, with Jeff Hutcheson presenting the weather forecast and sports. The program currently airs only on weekdays, and is produced from CTV's facilities at 9 Channel Nine Court in Toronto.
In addition to CTV's local owned-and-operated stations in Eastern Canada as well as affiliate station CITL-DT Lloydminster, the program also airs on independent station CJON-DT in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as CTV News Channel, the network's 24-hour national news service. 365gay News was the umbrella title of gay-themed news programming airing on the Logo television network. The programming was produced in partnership with CBS as a result of the former ownership of both networks by Viacom. It debuted in June 2005, when the channel began broadcasting.
Initially, news items were presented as short segments between scheduled programs. Occasionally the channel would air full half-hour specials on stories of interest to the LGBT community, such as the Gay Games, yearly gay pride events, the October 2006 ruling in the same-sex marriage case in New Jersey, Lewis v. Harris, and the issues facing gay voters in the 2006 mid-term elections.
In late 2007 CBS News on Logo went from broadcasting segments between scheduled programming to a weekly half-hour format. New programs were broadcast each Monday and repeated through the week.
Jason Bellini was the lead anchor for CBS News on Logo until 2008. Other correspondents included Itay Hod and Chagmion Antoine. The Executive Producer until 2008 was Court Passant. The CBS News Up to the Minute set was utilized for the broadcast of the program.
Beginning in January 2007, a news update podcast became available for download through the iTunes Store.

The program ran for four years, ending in July 2005. The nightly newscast was replaced by a new format, which included hourly updates and on-line supplements.

Howard K. Smith: News and Comment was a half-hour ABC news and documentary program hosted by commentator Howard K. Smith, which aired from February 14, 1962, to June 16, 1963. It was broadcast at the 10:30 Eastern time slot on Sundays opposite CBS's long-running quiz show, What's My Line?, hosted by John Charles Daly, himself the first ever ABC News anchorman.
In 1961, Smith left CBS News because of a dispute about a documentary that he produced on police violence against civil rights demonstrators in Birmingham, Alabama. He then joined ABC, where his contract stipulated that neither the network nor sponsors could interfere with the content of his program.
While at CBS, Smith hosted the documentary program Behind the News with Howard K. Smith for twenty-one weeks from January 11 to September 20, 1959. Selected episodes focused on communism in Cuba, the status of Berlin, the Cold War, Charles de Gaulle, Nikita Khrushchev, unemployment in depressed areas, and the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Smith's News and Comment began early in 1962. On November 11, five days after mid-term elections were held on November 6, Smith broadcast a program entitled "The Political Obituary of Richard M. Nixon", which proved highly controversial as well as premature. He included an interview with Nixon nemesis Alger Hiss, the Cold War convicted perjurer from Massachusetts, as well as remarks from Nixon loyalist Murray Chotiner. Some said that Smith's program in the long-run benefited Nixon's six-year political comeback because there was a backlash of sympathy caused by Hiss's appearance.
