Arrested, he will be released after the signing of the Evian agreements. He founded the Solidarity movement, for the benefit of Third World liberation movements and at the same time engaged in the promotion of Israeli-Arab and Israeli-Palestinian peace. He was assassinated in Paris on May 4, 1978. The investigation was unsuccessful. Gilles Perrault wrote a book about his journey, Un homme à part (Fayard, Paris, 2006).
