Lightning McQueen, a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line, when he finds himself unexpectedly detoured in the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs. Potato and friends get involved in a chase between a mysterious organization and a Molcar AI named Cannon, and are saved by a talented driver. Potato finds out that the driver is in search of his missing Molcar, and gets the idea to use Cannon's AI functionality to help with the search.
