AJ Mattioli is definitely a director to watch. His artistic vision is incredible. I loved this story that was both gritty yet uplifting. I loved the world that was created and I want to see it turned into something bigger, I just want more!
Mattioli and Salazar gift the viewer a glistening and breathtaking look of New York. The cinematography of Cory Green is an incredible backdrop to the story’s blooming romance. As gorgeous as the technical construction of the film feels, it never breaks too far from reality and complexity. Kinkel and Salazar give their all to provide two real characters who beam with emotion. The two of them navigate their characters with skill through the joy of self-discovery to darker ebbs of depression and addiction.

Bill Williams, a poor inventor with a large family, suddenly comes into great wealth through the sale of an invention. Sudden affluence turns his head, and he changes at once from the plodding mechanic of the dingy shop into an ultra-fashionable man of the town.
Fast, frenetic, and furious best describe the story of five teenage boys all but abandoned by the system, estranged from any parents, and discarded by life in general. They build a world of there own in which gangs, drugs, fighting, body piercing, self-harm, and even suicide are considered commonplace. The film highlights their harrowing place in time and this small world; where brotherhood is valued above all else. Impressively acted by actual street kids, the movie highlights a gritty side of modern-day Singaporean life.
