This joins a very exclusive group of films that probably ought never to have been made, but that I am thankful was... Mankind is being eradicated by the all-consuming tomato. Their selfless willingness to sacrifice themselves beneath our feet, against our car windscreens and our windows is as nothing to their determination to turn us all into mush. We must assemble a team of top scientists to devise a cunning strategy to fight back - but how? Whom/what is controlling these ferocious fruit? It's a delicious swipe at "Schlock" and the American news gathering industry; as well as a not irrelevant premonition of the "fake news" environment that some think we now have some 40-odd years later. It's repetitive, the one joke theme wears very thin very quickly, the script is riddled with clumsy innuendo and the acting is, well - if it were a sick pet then you might put it out of it's misery. The theme tune takes some hours to get our of your head and it does still raise the odd smile....
In the middle of woods inhabited by wolves, an astrologist imagines what it would be like to be a werewolf, running and howling through the woods in a schizophrenic blur instead of sitting in his home watching videos. Then the moon calls to calls to him.
On a mission to make Christmas unforgettable for Quill, the Guardians head to Earth in search of the perfect present.
A mariner survives an attack from the dreaded pirates of the Black Freighter, but his struggle to return home to warn it has a horrific cost.
In a Post-Apocaliptic world, Franco wakes up in the middle of a field to survive a perverse game alongside lots of other teenagers with no explanation whatsoever.
A strict elderly teacher suddenly begins to seem (or not to appear?) That the students in her class are no longer children, but terrible monsters, pursuing their mysterious goals.
Dead Hand episode 2. Last day of war. Last war broke out. All people are dead, but the machines continue dutifully follow orders. On the automatic base machines fueling and charge the weapons of last surviving bomber preparing to drop bombs at the dead enemy city. This happens until the echo of mankind subsides completely. Then comes a new era in which there is no place for us.
Three surreal depictions of failures of communication occuring on all levels of human society.
A dream Sci-Fi, set in Michael's world. The Astronomer and his Apprentice must make connection, but with whom and where? Where are they and will they listen? In a film about being trapped, togetherness and the hope the two can bring, will this dream state provide an exploration of our minds we do not yet understand?
