Gabriel "Flash" Elorde was born to a poor farmer's family in the town of Bogo, Cebu on March 25, 1935, the youngest of the 16 children. Renowned for his boxing skills, speed and ability to slip punches, the famed southpaw became an oriental champion at all weights from bantamweight to lightweight. To this day, Elorde holds the junior lightweight division for the longest title reign of nearly seven-and-a-half years, defending the crown he won with a spectacular 7th round knockout of Harold Gomes before 26,000 screaming fans at the inauguration of the Araneta Coliseum on March 16, 1960, 10 times against the top contenders. Elorde was the first Asian inducted into the New York-based International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1993 and was also enshrined in the World Boxing Hall of Fame. With his skills and humility both inside and outside the ring, "Flash" Elorde will always remain a tribute to the sport. He was a quintessential Filipino who "feared no man but was humble before all men."

Ward Kimball was perhaps the most inventive of all Disney animators and probably the only one who admitted to experimenting with psychedelic drugs in the 60's. Also the only animator who Walt Disney ever called a "genius."

A couple floats in the middle of the ocean on a log. Jeremy, an insecure young man with a mother complex, makes the trip more difficult by his absent-minded and awkward behavior. Aurora, a brisk and bossy young woman, is tired of dragging Jeremy along with her and wants to the trip to be over as soon as possible. Hayflower starts her summer holiday on a badminton camp which is ruined by Cynthia, a runaway chicken. Quiltshoe makes a new friend, Anita, who, to everyone's surprise, turns out to be a chicken. Under the leadership of constables Bellybutton and Goggleclock, a big chicken hunt is launched.

Cindy leaves her family and moves to the US to marry an American soldier. When her husband dies, he leaves her in debt and is forced to go back to the Philippines with her three blonde children to support them. She then meets Tony, a widower with blonde children as well and raises their children on what it means to be a Filipino.

Ruka is a young girl whose parents are separated and whose father works in an aquarium. When two boys, Umi and Sora, who were raised in the sea by dugongs, are brought to the aquarium, Ruka feels drawn to them and begins to realize that she has the same sort of supernatural connection to the ocean that they do. Umi and Sora's special power seems to be connected to strange events that have been occurring more and more frequently, such as the appearance of sea creatures far from their home territory and the disappearance of aquarium animals around the world. However, the exact nature of the boys' power and of the abnormal events is unknown, and Ruka gets drawn into investigating the mystery that surrounds her new friends.
