Decent enough supernatural-thriller that in the hands of someone like Guillermo del Toro probably would've been great, instead kind of plods along even with a short running time (~85 min.), however I did like the lead actress Freya Tingley as a fresh face. There are some creepy elements here and there and the finale was a tad off with some subpar visual effects, yet still had some chilling spots. I would say it's worth renting, though I had interest as I do like the violin so I guess it might've held a tad more interest because it's central to the plot. **3.0/5** Not sure if this was Rutger Hauer's last released film, but he's not in it a whole lot.
When composer George Harvey Bone wakes with no memory of the previous night and a bloody knife in his pocket, he worries that he has committed a crime. On the advice of Dr. Middleton, Bone agrees to relax, going to a music performance by singer Netta Longdon. Riveted by Netta, Bone agrees to write songs for her rather than his own concerto. However, Bone soon grows jealous of Netta and worries about controlling himself during his spells.
300 years of a remarkable musical instrument. Crafted by the Italian master Bussotti (Cecchi) in 1681, the red violin has traveled through Austria, England, China, and Canada, leaving both beauty and tragedy in its wake. In Montreal, Samuel L Jackson plays an appraiser going over its complex history.
The sinister Dr. Watt has an evil scheme going—he's kidnapping beautiful young women and turning them into mannequins to sell to local stores. Fortunately for him, Detective Sergeant Bung is on the case, and he doesn't have a clue!
A diverse group of ex-cons-turned-movers are convinced by their creepy client, Vern Muller, to pull an all-nighter for a generous pay bump. As the night progresses and rooms are cleared, they slowly uncover the horrors that exist inside his old Victorian mansion, which include boobytraps, human experimentation, Nazi monsters and more. Will they survive the night?
In a remote region of Wales, five travelers beset by a relentless storm find shelter in an old mansion.
Two men renovating a mysterious old house attempt to leave before the building enters lock down and seals them inside. Unfortunately the house has different plans for them.
Isa, a taciturn school teacher working for the resistance, is tasked with carrying out an assassination with the help of Hazil, a charming rebel who finds himself falling for Isa’s wife, Fatimah.
