Stranglehold

The day after the funeral of their beloved daughter, Mrs. Mason unexpectedly meets young orphan Joyce and is struck by her resemblance to her lost child. She and Mr. Mason adopt her and for a while all is well until Joyce begins to suspect Jenks the new butler. Her instinct proves correct: Jenks is the tool of Jim Vaughn, notorious leader of a burglary ring. One night while Mr. Mason is out trying to resolve some business difficulties, Jim Vaughn breaks into the house. Joyce, awakened, hears him removing valuables, aided by Jenks. Desperate, she grasps her foster father's revolver holding them at bay while phoning Mason. Arriving with the police, Vaughn is captured. Joyce is presented the $5,000 reward which she turns over to Mason, solving his problems.

His friend Watana works for a Japanese businessman named Motoyoshi so that he can get enough money to bring his wife Sat-Su and their children to America. Lena's father, a frequent visitor to John’s home unaware of his connection to his dead wife, Meets Lena and espying a locket worn round her neck containing the picture of her mother, he recognizes her as his daughter.

Auto racer Speed Carr enters a marathon race across the United States, from New York to Los Angeles. He encounters numerous obstacles not related to the race and must switch identities and vehicles before he can finish.

After eventually being cleared of the crime Della maries her first love...Valentia.

Saxophone player Clyde meets a woman named Flowers, and teaches her to dance. He later discovers that gangster boss "Blackjack" is also in love with her. "Blackjack" is also battling gang boss Mike Luego in a violent turf war.
