Karutthamma, the daughter of a Hindu fisherman, falls in love with a Muslim fish trader. However, social prejudices seem to ruin their love life and invite the wrath of their communities.

The village of Kanakkodu is free of politics and political parties. Pala Thankachen spread the seeds of politics in the calm atmosphere prevalent there. Consequently, the villagers divide themselves into different political groups.

The story follows Dawood, who wishes to don the cop uniform right from his childhood. He grows up to be a straight-laced, passionate policeman, who is sent off to a sleepy border suburb Kollanahalli for his first posting. An unexpected turn of events presents him an opportunity to prove himself.

Kannan (Dileep) is the son of a fashion weaver Ayyapanashan (Babu Namboothiri). His father has sent him for fashion designing,but Kannan wants to make more money easier. His friends are Yesudas a.k.a Yesu (Lal),a goonda and Vasu (Kalabhavan Shajon).

Karthi and Riya elope one early morning to Ooty, fearing that the elders in the family will not accept their inter-religious relationship. They return to their respective homes after a couple of days after having a fight. They convince their loved ones that they hate each other and vow never to see each other again. The film would then trace the eventual course of their lives.

Kadhaveedu' is a dedication to Malayalam being accorded the Shresthabhaasha (Malayalam has been declared a Classical language in 2013) status and presents, as a single entity, three different stories penned by the doyens of Malayalam literature - Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer, M T Vasudevan Nair and Madhavikutty. The film is an anthology with adaptations of stories written by renowned Malayalam fiction writers Basheer, M. T. Vasudevan Nair and Madhavikutty (Kamala Surayya).. The stories have been tweaked to fit in a modern setting and the script has been conceived by the director himself.

Dia(Pankaja Menon) heroine of the movie is a management student in Mangalore. She and four of her friends(Catherine, Hashim, Yamini and Chinna Gounder) visits Rajasthan for 15 days to attend a marriage. There she meets a Rajput boy Pavan(Arun Shankar) and falls in love with him. What happens to her there after that in that unknown land makes the content of the film.

Three friends decide to hire a prostitute on the day of the Aatukaal Pongala - a Hindu festival in Trivandrum - when their wives are busy.

An immensely rich farmer lives peacefully with his family in Pala and has no idea about the hectic metro life. He gets introduced to it when he hides a love-stricken couple in his house.

Joppan's failed romance excuses him to be an alcoholic. Hoping to start a new life, he seeks out for some love but would fate favor him this time?

Panchayat Secretary Ullahanan leads a monotonous life till a college reunion rekindles excitement in his 20-year-old marital life and infuses in him a renewed sense of purpose and love for everything that he once took for granted.
