Ray Meets Helen

In the streets of North Paris, in a famous ghetto place called Chapelle, Isaac sells drugs for his father Abraham. Abraham loves money in an almost religious way. Rebecca is in love with Isaac. She wants to help Isaac find a new lifestyle.

Wallingford is a con-man whose specialty is taking money from suckers. His partners are Schnozzle, a pickpocket and car thief; and Blackie, who has played the game for years.

Ray, a construction worker trapped in an unhappy marriage, pursues an affair with his neighbor, Carla. Carla's husband, Greg, is a mobster who keeps large sums of drug money in their home.
