This isn't such a good outing for Tom Baker as the eponymous Time Lord. It's essentially two stories with the first part seeing him and "Leela" (Louise Jameson) arriving on his home planet of "Gallifrey" to assert his right to be President of the Supreme Council. This doesn't go down so well with his former tutor, and now Chancellor "Borusa" (John Arnatt) nor the slightly sneaky security chief "Kelner" (Milton Johns). We already suspect that the "Doctor" is up to something, and as he takes office the impregnable citadel is soon overrun by enemies bent on controlling the galaxy. The second trio of episodes introduces us to the real paymasters from the first three: a menacing militaristic race whom even K9's laser cannot harm. With the fate of their home on the line, what is the plan and what might the elusive "Key of Rassilon" have to do with anything? This was the last six-parter of the series and I felt maybe the writers (there were four) had run out of steam a little, as had Baker. Sure, there's still some mischief to be had and Johns, Arnatt and Chris Tranchell - captain of the guard "Andred" and the source of a little romance for the especially useful "Leela", all contribute well enough as we base much of the action in what looked like an old municipal swimming baths, but the story is much weaker and slightly over-written. It's perfectly watchable, just not so great.
It's September 2018, and a group of high school students are more than ever excited to pursue their dreams. Sougo Tokiwa wants to become a desirable king, and Keito "Geiz" Myokoin works tirelessly to become the true judo champion while trying to impress his crush, Alpina Tsukuyomi. However, one day Geiz suffers a career-ending injury during a judo match in a judo tournament, forcing him to give up his dream of become a judo champion. While still grieving, he was met by a mysterious man, who wanted to give Geiz a Ridewatch and a Driver. "My name is Woz, I came here to guide you to become a savior. If not, Sougo Tokiwa will become the worst and evillest demon king." Meanwhile, a new transfer student leads him to nothing but one grand conspiracy.
A group of students become trapped inside a mysterious cave where they discover time passes differently underground than on the surface.
A depressed housewife who learns her husband was killed in a car accident the day previously, awakens the next morning to find him alive and well at home, and then awakens the day after to a world in which he is still dead.
In this completely TARDIS-based story, the crew find themselves and their ship acting very strangely indeed. Blame runs high for the Ship's unusual behavior, until the Doctor realizes the TARDIS itself may be trying to warn them...
When the Second Doctor, Polly, Ben and Jamie visit a human colony that appears to be one big holiday camp, they think they have come across a truly happy place. Yet a shadowy presence soon makes them realise that the surface contentment is carefully controlled.
The TARDIS arrives on Earth in July, 1966, on a runway at Gatwick Airport. Polly witnesses a murder in a nearby hangar and is then kidnapped by the perpetrator, Spencer of Chameleon Tours. Ben also vanishes. The Second Doctor and Jamie are left to convince the sceptical airport Commandant there has been foul play.
The Daleks draft the Second Doctor into distilling the Human Factor. Once implanted, it will make the Dalek race invincible. Jamie's faith in the Doctor is stretched to the limit as the Doctor appears to be collaborating with the Daleks. The Doctor has a few tricks up his sleeve, but then again so might the Daleks.
Mysterious forces are at work in 1930s Tibet. The once gentle Yeti have turned savage and besieged a Buddhist monastery. The Second Doctor, Jamie and Victoria arrive expecting a friendly welcome from the abbot, but soon become ensnared in the plans of the extradimensional being known as the Great Intelligence.
The Doctor takes Ace on an initiative test to a strange Victorian old house where she is forced to confront her darkest fears.
The Doctor and Ace head for the Psychic Circus on the planet Segonax, where they meet a disparate group of performers and visitors, including a self-centred explorer named Captain Cook, his companion Mags and a biker known as Nord.
Little Willy McBean joins up with a Mexican monkey named Pablo to travel back in time and stop the evil Prof. von Rotten from changing history.
