In the spring of 2009 two Norwegian adventurers, Joshua French and Tjostolv Moland, are accused of killing their hired chauffeur just before crossing into the eastern Congo. The following manhunt starts a political and diplomatic headache.

Zhu Dingtai, the legitimate grandson of the Ming dynasty's Anhua Prince, risked his life to travel to the capital and file a petition to seek justice for his grandfather and father. However, the journey was fraught with danger. Along the way, he had to use his wits and courage, subduing the innkeeper, Tuo Jiu, and even the three martial arts sisters and the Internal Bureau's hundred-household chief, who were sent to assassinate him. In the end, they were all moved by his benevolence and righteousness.
