In the dark heart of a sprawling, anonymous city, two assassins carry out a sinister mission, a teacher battles a fatal illness, and an enigmatic janitor and a curious waitress lead dangerous double lives. Murderous consequences unravel in the dead of night, as their lives intertwine at the hands of a mysterious criminal mastermind who is hell-bent on revenge.

The movie is based on a Fatmir Gjata screenplay. Gjata had written a novel with the same title earlier. The events evolve in the 1950s. The main character, Tana, is a smart, outgoing and progressive young woman. She is in love with Stefan (Naim Frashëri) and they both live in an unnamed mountain village in Albania. Tana has to face the old mentality of her old grandfather and she also has to fight the jealousy of Lefter . It is a love game, while socialist progress is highlighted as is often in the socialist realism.

And so begins the telling of two love stories, separated by three generations and one hundred years.

All of this awakens Xiaomai's memories of her childhood sweetheart Qiushou, whose mother was also strangled to death with a purple scarf by an unknown killer. Xiaomai and Qiushou grew up together and fell in love, but he suddenly disappeared from her life 15 years ago without a word. She begins to believe that Qiushou has returned and may be seeking revenge.

The film revolves around the life of an ordinary man and a local goon and how their lives get changed due to some unfortunate events.

Ana has just been dumped by her boyfriend Manuel. While living with her, he never let her own a pet because he thought it was cruel for the animal and not very hygienic. Once he even convinced her to get rid of a turtle that was given to her as a birthday present. But now she has decided to get a puppy, partly as revenge for leaving her and partly to help her forget about him. She names him "Man" because he sees him as half "Manuel" but still twice the man he was. Time goes by and the dog grows up but she can't forget her ex-boyfriend, and she doesn't want the dog anymore. So she plans to give him away, as a Christmas present, to her brother. She leaves him in the car and has dinner with her family but when she comes back to get him, the car is gone and so is the dog. She feels very sad and tries to find Man. Until one day, Manuel shows up at her door with him. He tells Ana a story of how he bought the dog at the market they used to visit when they were together, and how ...
