A group of old friends gathers for a biannual barbecue at the host's house. Everything seems fine, until the carnivorous party takes an unexpected turn and the true relationships between characters are revealed and show that not everything is as it seems.

Mic, partially deaf and injured after a robbery, is abandoned by his accomplice in an unidentified forrest. A young woman, acting strangely is then going to take care of him, although difficulties of communication separate the two individuals, each of them appearing to live in a world of his own.

Late one night, a mechanic invites the mysterious Magpie to his garage.

As the afternoon light fades, two kids play in the woods by a lake. When one of them disappears, the lake and its inhabitants take hold of the narrative and, when the darkness sets in, build up the walls of a maze that encircles the two kids.
