The story is about a businessman who is on his way to see the woman he is having an affair with when he gets stuck in an elevator with a little girl. Through their interaction the man realizes he is still in love with his wife and comes out with a new perspective on life.

Although terrified of girls, Charley must take a job teaching at a girls school.

Dr. Semyc is a specialist of a widespread disease for which there is no cure to date. Announce the diagnosis is a difficult exercise, however, that mastery to perfection.

Pierre Vignol, an artist wintering in Arizona, is bitten by a snake. He is taken by his friend, Tom Hornby, to Padre Francisco, who prescribes for the bite. Pierre, at the request of Tom, returns to his cabin and Tom takes care of him. Later Tom discovers a tube in Lost River. This proves to be a painting and Pierre takes it to Padre Francisco. The Padre reads him an interesting history of Fr. Bartolomeo. founder of the Mission, and of how the painting came to be discovered in Lost River, for it had been thrown there by a monk when the Mission was attacked by the Indians, owing to the abduction of the Chief's daughter by a villainous Spaniard. Tom takes the painting to New York where he sells it and gives the money to the wife of Tom, who has been too poor to bring her and the baby to Arizona.

Adapted from the Edgar Allen Poe short story called “Bon-Bon”. The film is a dark comedy about a man intoxicated on wine and his own ideas on the meaning of the soul. It is in this state that he is visited by the Devil, and a philosophical discussion about the soul ensues.

A mother's jealousy, of her daughter's relationship with the father, becomes abusively hateful after the young girl accidentally causes the death of her father.

A young boy frequently visits an old man who lives alone, keeping him always in good company. One night, he chances upon the old man watching a dated clip of himself as a cross-dressing boy. This sparks within the young boy an interest to find out more about the old man's past. What he ultimately discovers aids both him and the old man towards a richer understanding of how the weight of life and identity should be carried.
