**_A complicated story, but this Western finds its footing and touches greatness_** In 1892, a foreman of a huge ranch in southern Utah (Rod Cameron) tries to stave off land grabbers (Brian Donlevy) and rustlers (Jim Davis) after the death of the patriarch. Curiously, the fiancé (Forrest Tucker) of the heir of the ranch (Ella Raines) seems to oppose the foreman’s efforts. Based on the Luke Short novel, “Ride the Man Down” (1952) starts out convoluted with a dozen key characters introduced in the first act. They tend to speak in that rat-a-tat-tat way which was in vogue back then. The flick needed another 30 more minutes of runtime to breath. If you pay attention, however, you’ll eventually figure out who’s who and the details thereof. More than that, you’ll discover a great little old Western that’s undeservedly obscure. You can’t beat the awesome Southwest locations in living color and Cameron makes for a stalwart, noble protagonist. Raines works well as the heroine and I enjoyed the human interest of the romantic possibilities with quality dialogues/acting. If you appreciate old Westerns like “Albuquerque,” “Whispering Smith,” The Sundowners” (1950), “Shane” and “The Hangman,” this is just as worthwhile in its unique way. It runs 1 hour, 29 minutes, and was shot in Kanab, Utah, which is in the southwest region of the state by the border of Arizona. GRADE: B+/A-
A saloonkeeper sides with the sheriff for justice after she's framed for rustling.
Jim Trask, former sheriff of Abilene, returns to the town after fighting for the Confederacy to find everyone thought he was dead. His old friend Dave Mosely is now engaged to Trask's former sweetheart and is one of the cattlemen increasingly feuding with the original farmers. Trask is persuaded to take up as sheriff again but there is something about the death of Mosely's brother in the Civil War that is haunting him.
Tim Corwin- an agent for the Cattlemen's Association- is assigned to look into a range war between settlers and powerful cattle baron Walton.

A range war between cattlemen and farmers comes to a head with the arrival of a Deputy Marshal and "Mule" a famous gunfighter in the town of Houstonville, Texas.
Tornado Range is one of five Eddie Dean westerns originally produced by PRC in 1947 but released the following year by Eagle-Lion. Cast as a troubleshooter for the U.S. Land Office, Dean is assigned to settle a deadly range war. Sure enough, the warring homesteaders and cattlemen are being whipped into a frenzy by a third party, who hopes to "divide and conquer," claiming the land for himself. Surprisingly, all-purpose PRC villain George Cheseboro isn't the culprit in this one; instead, he's cast as the father of heroine Jennifer Holt. Roscoe Ates is once more on hand for some questionable comedy relief.
In this western, the bad guy kills a rancher and a Texas ranger so that the location of a copper mine will remain a secret. Another ranger goes undercover to catch the outlaw. The killer hires him. His assignment is to create trouble for the late rancher's daughter who has taken over the land. He cons her into to giving him the deed for the ranch. He takes it to the outlaw, but first he stops to warn the other rangers.
