After witnessing the murder of his father by Eappachan, Kochu flees his village to escape him. Years later, Kochu, now a don, returns to the village to avenge his father.

Thuruppugulan story is focused on Kochuthoma (Innocent) and his son Kunjumon (Mammootty). Kochuthoma is running a typical street side "thattukada" in Kochi.
