Director Luigi Capuano has tried for two bites of the cherry with this pirate cum western combo. Guy Madison is the colonial Spanish governor who is at loggerheads with pirate "Valverde" (Rik Battaglia) and simultaneously mercilessly persecuting the local population under their princess (Ingeborg Schöner) for their gold. He takes a bit of a shine to this feisty lady, as does his nemesis and so there are multiple battle lines drawn between these two men as the swash and buckle turns more to tomahawks and teepees. It's quite good fun stolen by a Battaglia who is clearly enjoying his chance to be Errol Flynn. The other two at the top of the bill look ill-at-ease and deliver quite woodenly as the story meanders rather weakly along taking a rather predictable route to it's rousing denouement. There must have been a decent enough budget for the production isn't bad and there are plenty of action scenes and pyrotechnics that reminded me a little of that other stilted adventure film "Seven Seas to Calais" (1962). Peplum goes pirate in Peru not Penzance and if you like the genre you'll probably quiet enjoy this. I did.
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack Sparrow feels the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost sailors led by his old nemesis, the evil Capt. Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle. Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it, he must forge an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer and a headstrong young man in the British navy.
The pirates feel right at home in Sandborough, but the atmosphere cools right down when the ninjas come to live in the street. After all, pirates and ninjas are sworn enemies! While pirate captain Hector Blunderbuss struggles to get rid of his new neighbours, son Billy and ninja daughter Yuka become friends. The pirates challenge the ninjas to the ultimate battle at the village's annual hexathlon. Who will win the match? Ninjas are faster and more agile of course, but pirates are the best cheats in all of the seven seas...
Captain Jack Sparrow races to recover the heart of Davy Jones to avoid enslaving his soul to Jones' service, as other friends and foes seek the heart for their own agenda as well.
Tongue-in-cheek adventure tale of an American attempting to free sailors held as hostages and becoming involved in middle-East tribal wars.
This Pirates of Penzance is primarily a historical document, part of the Broadway Theater Archive television series. It presents, with some inevitable, tiny technical shortcomings, a live 1980 performance in Central Park, not the 1983 movie of the same name that also starred Linda Ronstadt and Kevin Kline. Those who remember that film, which had the benefit of retakes and editing, a lavish production budget, and the spaciousness of a Hollywood studio, may find this video less polished. On its own terms, it is nonetheless thoroughly enjoyable.
The most fearsome pirate in epic deeds and fierce battles. Betrayed and abandoned on an island, discover a fabulous treasure and fight to the death to save a child from the dangers and wild beasts.
The legendary Space Sheriff Gavan is hired to capture the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. However, Gavan himself is captured by Ashurada, a Zangyack prison chief and descendant of his old enemy Don Horror, and jailed in the worst prison in the universe. The Gokaigers resolve to rescue the sheriff from the prison and join forces with him to fight Ashurada.
Zephyr, now known as Z, rides the seas with only one goal: Destroy all pirates and their dreams at becoming King of Pirates. When Luffy and his crew encounter him at sea, not only are they utterly defeated by the man with an arm made of Seastone, Nami, Robin, and Chopper are turned 10 years younger due to Z's minion Ain. Luffy is so determined to win against him that he does not even notice Z's master plan that could sacrifice thousands of lives.
After staging a mutiny and commandeering his own ship, famed pirate Barbarossa (John Payne) takes hostage a spirited Spanish noblewoman named Alida (Donna Reed), intending to trade her to her fiancé, Capt. Jose Salcedo (Gerald Mohr), for a handsome ransom. But Barbarossa falls in love with Alida, who meanwhile discovers that the roguish swashbuckler is more honorable than her erstwhile betrothed.
Two fishermen Dogfish names Joe and Lula discover the result of a theft of a dangerous gang of smugglers and go immediately to be persecuted by them. In pursuit of the bandits is also the federal agent Carlos, passionate young Diana, of which the fishermen meet and become friends. The action takes place on board the Fishermen, however, when the weather warms there comes the pirate Long John Silver, who is looking for a fabulous map of a treasure that was hidden on a nearby island. The map, now divided into two parts, it becomes cause for persecution, with plenty of good humor and adrenaline, which changed hands throughout the film and leading everyone to the island where the treasure was buried.
When Captain Kidd is reprieved from the gallows by a greedy nobelman who wants to know the location of his buried treasure, he sets off across the seven seas with faithful slave girl Eva Gabor in tow.
