A Bout with a Trout

A fisherman and his little alien pet go fishing on a desolate barren planet somewhere in the galaxy. With his gear he digs a whole in the crust up until the magma shows up. Now the fishing can start, some bait, and down the mechanical fishing rod goes. It won't take long until something eats the bait. But what kind of fish is this? One thing we know for sure: it doesn't want to get caught.

The strange Pearce sisters live in isolation on a remote, rain-swept island. One day, a sailor is washed ashore and the sisters take steps to ensure they retain their guest.

The annual winter fisheries are about to start, but the great catch never seems to come. It turns out that large industrial trawlers have emptied the ocean of fish, and the ordinary little fishing boats will have a hard time surviving. Elias gathers all his friends in order to save the future of his tiny coastal community.

Mickey and Pluto go fishing. Pluto has a run-in with a clam, who eventually lodges in Pluto's mouth; Mickey thinks the clam is Pluto's tongue and can't understand why Pluto keeps begging for more food. After they get rid of the clam, Mickey's attempts to use his minnows as bait are thwarted by a hungry seagull; he brings his friends, and they chase our heroes away.

Porky Pig goes fishing. It's not quite the outing he anticipated.

Spike is guarding a private fishing hole - in his sleep. Tom sneaks in to do some fishing - with Jerry as bait. But one particularly vicious fish turns out to be more than Tom or Jerry bargained for, particularly when he wakes up Spike.

Barney's going fishing, but just as he's getting ready to hook a whole school of trout, a rather persistent duck keeps getting in the way.

Barney has a dive mask and swim fins to help with his pursuit of fish. First, though, he needs to get the anchor set, despite an overly helpful little seal. The seal acts like an inept hunting dog, leading Barney to a cave with an angry lobster, then an unfortunate encounter with a shark.

Catching fish on the North Pole can be challenging. Some have more luck than others. The unfortunate ones may totally need a different fishing approach.
