Fresh from their flirtation with the Almighty, our crew of intrepid explorers are on the eve of hanging up their phasers when they are summoned to carry out one last mission. This time, it's just a courtesy job to escort the Klingon High Chancellor to a conference on Earth. They meet, have a nice state dinner and exchange some Shakespeare; next thing the Klingon has been assassinated and "Kirk" and "McCoy" have been fitted up for the crime and imprisoned on a cold penal colony that makes "Hoth" look like Barbados. Now we have a race to free them and get to the new venue of the peace meeting before the warmongering "General Chang" (Christopher Plummer, complete with a bolt-on eyepatch) and his Federation co-conspirators put the kibosh on the proceedings and they all die fighting. This is the last ensemble outing for the whole crew and it's a great bit of action adventure in the spirit of "Wrath of Khan" (1982). A fitting finale for their last voyage together.
I mean, there are better Star Trek movies, but this was 1991 and the Berlin Wall fell and the Klingons were the metaphor for the USSR (despite what the current everything is political writers of Picard say, despite their attempts to invert it) and spray cans destroyed to O-Zone layer... ... and so do moons. So.... this fit PERFECTLY into 1991. PERFECTLY, and good science fiction is always a commentary on politics, culture, religion, something contemporary that needs to be poked at and examined. And that is EXACTLY what VI does, and it does it to the letter. It examines the old cold warriors in a new time of peace.
The world is still reeling from the assassination of JFK - but has yet to lose his kid brother Bobby. In the midst of all this, a reluctant hero by the name of Lucien Rivard becomes enmeshed in a web of global political intrigue and corruption.
The story about a class of star-boys who travel with their research spaceship to "Outdoor School" to see life on Earth. Since they wear "snurke" - a kind of shiny badges, they are invisible to Earthlings. But the star-boy Gubang's desire to meet the Earthlings in personal is so strong that he can not resist. He befriends a girl named Maya and gives her "snurko" so that she could see him. This causes severe complications both on Earth and in spaceship. Of course, everything finishes with a happy end.
A man who has a body almost completely covered in tattoos is searching for the woman who cursed him with the "skin illustrations". Each tattoo reveals a bizarre story, which is experienced by staring at the scene depicted. When the illustrated man meets a fellow tramp on the road a strange voyage begins.
Clear Skies follows a trio of down-and-out misfits who've seen no end of bad luck. John Rourke is the obstinate captain of the Clear Skies, a Tempest class battleship manufactured by the downtrodden Minmatar race of New Eden. Rourke's attitude toward his hazardous chosen lifestyle is cavalier, although this does not sit well with his friends among the crew.
These likeable dropouts from the entrenched corporate lifestyle of New Eden eke out a meager living on trade runs and the odd courier job here and there. Still, they manage to find humor in their grim lot as they narrowly avoid being blown out of the stars by pirates, hired thugs, or whatever threat awaits them on the other side of the next jump gate. This is life aboard the Clear Skies.
In the year 2150, Johnny, a lazy Space Delivery Man, must deliver a package on a planet he does not fully understand.
The Old Republic: Rescue Mission is a passion project born from the idea of breaking the bounds of achievability. Begun as a small collective of individuals to soon becoming a larger team, we set out with an aim to create some of the best fan-made content ever to be based from the Star Wars Expanded Universe lore. It is an original story featuring Mission Vao and Revan, set between the events of the KOTOR game and Drew Karpyshyn's novel 'Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan'.
Flint is again called out of retirement when his old boss finds that he seems to have missed 3 Minutes while golfing with the President. Flint finds that the President has been replaced by an actor (Flint's line [with a wistful look] is "An Actor as President?") Flint finds that a group of women have banded together to take over the world through subliminal brainwashing in beauty salons they own.
A series of unexplainable accidents befall the people and companies responsible for developing the world's first supersonic airliner. A British agent is sent to investigate and with the help of another agent uncovers a plot masterminded by Carl Petersen who stands to gain eight million pounds if the aircraft is not ready by a certain date.
A man sets out to photograph UFOs in a scientifically verifiable manner only to get more than he bargained for. Shot by acclaimed visual effects master Douglas Trumbull in a new process called MAGI, 4K 3D at 120 frames per second, to create a powerful sense of immersion previously unseen in cinema.
