**_Traditional slasher in the forest with too much padding_** Seven youths go to a cabin-in-the-woods to have a good time, but a mysterious man with an axe puts the kibosh on their plans. "The Legend of Bloody Jack" (2007) is a slasher in the tradition of "The Prey" and "The Final Terror," both released 24 years earlier. While not quite on the level of “The Final Terror” (which isn’t exactly great), it’s about on par with “The Prey.” It’s thankfully superior to the lousy "Don't Go in the Woods," but not as effective as “Berserker.” The reason I mention those specific flicks is because this is cut from the same cloth. Unlike “Don’t Go in the Woods,” the characters are fleshed-out a little, although not as well as in “Edge of the Axe.” The dramatic scenes are superior to those in the obscure “The Ridge” (2005), but the thrills in the second half are nowhere near as compelling. On the feminine front, ScarJo-lookalike Erica Curtis stands out as the redhead protagonist Dawn. Alicia Klein is worth a mention as insecure Shelly. Meanwhile there’s a top nudity sequence involving blonde Jessica Szab, who plays Lisa (just a heads up). Regrettably, there’s too much padding. For instance, the intro unnecessarily drags on too long. The flick would’ve worked better at about 73 minutes. As it is, it runs 1 hour, 28 minutes. In other words, fifteen tedious minutes needed shaved off. Still, if you’re an aficionado of cabin-in-the-woods horror, it’s proficient enough to check out. It was shot in the hills northeast or north of Los Angeles (Los Padres National Forest, Pine Mountain Club and Angeles National Forest). GRADE: C
Edith has been beset by vivid hallucinations that only end when she begins spying on her next door neighbor.
A prank of three teenagers ends fatally for the victim, who later comes alive again to take revenge as a killer zombie.
In October of 1994 three student filmmakers disappeared in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland, while shooting a documentary. A year later their footage was found.
A pitch-black comedy about Vivian, a lonely serial killer whose three loves in life are math, accounting, and killing random people. This all changes when she meets Alex, the man of her dreams.
Steve Clark is a newcomer in the town of Cradle Bay, and he quickly realizes that there's something odd about his high school classmates. The clique known as the "Blue Ribbons" are the eerie embodiment of academic excellence and clean living. But, like the rest of the town, they're a little too perfect. When Steve's rebellious friend Gavin mysteriously joins their ranks, Steve searches for the truth with fellow misfit Rachel.
The mutilated body of a six year old girl is found in a water hole. The girl is identified as the missing daughter of Claudia. However, only two peices of evidence could be used to identify her; a bracelet with her name on it near the crime scene, and the fact that her right leg was three inches longer than her left. All other methods of identification were removed from her body. Five years later Claudia, now addicted to tranquilizers, receives a phone call from someone claiming to be her daughter, asking for her mother to come find her before 'they' kill her. Other mysterious clues show up, further indicating that Claudia's daughter is indeed still alive, and very much in danger. Claudia, a run-down ex-cop, and a parapsychology reporter put together the clues to discover Angela's whereabouts
In a far-future time ruled by the supernatural, a young girl requests the help of a vampire hunter to kill the vampire who has bitten her and thus prevent her from becoming a vampire herself.
Former FBI Agent Will Graham, who was once almost killed by the savage Hannibal 'The Cannibal' Lecter, now has no choice but to face him again, as it seems Lecter is the only one who can help Graham track down a new serial killer.
After a man with extraordinary—and frighteningly destructive—telepathic abilities is nabbed by agents from a mysterious rogue corporation, he discovers he is far from the only possessor of such strange powers, and that some of the other “scanners” have their minds set on world domination, while others are trying to stop them.
Elliot, a successful gynecologist, works at the same practice as his identical twin, Beverly. Elliot is attracted to many of his patients and has affairs with them. When he inevitably loses interest, he will give the woman over to Beverly, the meeker of the two, without the woman knowing the difference. Beverly falls hard for one of the patients, Claire, but when she inadvertently deceives him, he slips into a state of madness.
Dr. Feinstone has everything, a beautiful wife and a successful career in dentistry; but when he discovers his wife's affair, he realizes that behind every clean, white surface lies the stench of decay.
