Veronica, a young woman, lives in Recife, one of the most violent cities in Brazil. Her life is filled with fleeting love affairs and passing romances. As her father feels his death approaching, he asks a favor: that she finds true love before he passes away.

Walter Speckman is a nobody, until one day he is struck by lightning and gains the ability to move any object with his mind... but only for 3 inches at a time. A recruiter who knows of super-powered individuals finds Walter and offers him the chance to use his powers to do good... and join with a team of other people with similar abilities. Walter accepts, but soon discovers that "good" and "evil" aren't as easy to differentiate as he thought.

When their abusive parents are killed in a car crash, twin sisters Rosie and Violet vow to run away to Kentucky in search of a better life. While on the road, the girls meet up with Pete, a drifter working as a grounds keeper on a derelict army base, who takes them in. While Violet falls for him, Rosie becomes increasingly angry and hostile, and the sisters' childhood bond is eventually destroyed forever.

Susanne [Susanne Ulfsäter] is a young woman who lives with her parents, parents that don’t really give a toss about her and spend more time entertaining guests and complaining about their fair daughter and her appearance. Based on a novel by the same name written by Gu Hua, a melodrama about the life and travails of a young woman who lives through the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution.

Dávid - a man living alone - one day receives an email. The email is about an unknown but also special software that is offered only for him, for free. Dávid's friend Oszkár tells him that the software is capable of rewriting reality, but also warns him to ignore the email, because it can be dangerous. Dávid doesn't listen to Oszkár, and downloads the software.
