But Pakistan was not alone in perpetrating this violence. The then-American president and the National Security Advisor were supporting the Pakistani dictator. The cold war triggered this geopolitical escalation. Finally, India pressurized by the 10 million refugees within its borders, went to war with Pakistan. and joining forces with the local rebels, the Mukti Bahini, helped liberate Bangladesh. Cradled in the blood of innocents, a new nation was born in the closing days of 1971. "Bay of Blood", brings this 50-odd-year-old story to life.

The Fillmore was once a thriving, vibrant, and multicultural community with one of the most prominent jazz scenes on the West Coast and hundreds of black-owned businesses. The neighborhood’s prosperity quickly came to an end as urban redevelopment tore through neighborhoods, pushing thousands of families and businesses out of the area. After the Russian Red Army occupied independent Georgia, the renowned Georgian historian and researcher, Eqvtime Takaishvili, was entrusted with the incredibly difficult task of safely transporting most of Georgia's treasures abroad to protect them from the Soviet regime, ensuring their intact return. Over the course of 25 painstaking and perilous years, Eqvtime managed to bring back all the treasures without any losses. Upon his return, the 82-year-old Eqvtime faced questioning by KGB General Nikoloz Rukhadze. He was subsequently expelled from the University of Georgia, sentenced to house arrest, and prohibited from receiving visits from friends and family; many of whom were also arrested.
