A Cosmic Christmas

This Christmas film, created as a special for television broadcast throughout the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania viewing region, was produced by puppeteer Mabel Beaton and her husband Les for Bell Telephone Company and first aired in 1953. Following a short live-action opening portion, featured are two extended marionette segments, the first dramatizing Clement Moore's "A Visit from St. Nicholas", the second reverently telling the Nativity story; the two stories are staged in classic, traditional style. From 1953 onward, for several years, The Spirit of Christmas was broadcast in the intended region multiple times per holiday season. It was also available as a 16mm film licensed to schools for showings to students. This film often is misstated to have originally been broadcast in 1950.

Making matters worse, the buyer is Mia's former boyfriend, property developer Brady Schaltz, who must let Mia and Ann know the Meijer family-owned heritage Dutch sawmill, renowned for the past 90 years for its fine millwork and beautiful wooden furniture, will be torn down to put up a luxurious resort.

Penurious but muscle-bound Blake Thorne has made a vast fortune marketing health food and health supplements. Blake escapes the cops by running into a shopping mall, quickly donning a Santa Suit and pretending to be St. Nick. A head injury causes Blake to suffer amnesia, and an opportunistic "elf" decides to convince Blake that he is indeed Santa. This leads "Santa" to help save an orphanage, filled with adorable moppets, from the machinations of a greedy, insane doctor.

Alien Arsenal, also released as Alien Weapons, tells the story of two teenage misfits, Ralph and Baxter, who accidentally discover a bizarre vault full of alien weaponry and body armor in the basement of their high school, with which they harness the power to transform from super geeks...to superheroes. Unfortunately, their discovery signals the arsenal's alien owners who have returned to Earth to reclaim the deadly cache...and destroy the planet!
