SHE'S THE ONE

An unemployed actor hires out as a bodyguard-companion for a woman and finds himself involved in murder.

The Forbidden Past is a heart tugging, rare Chinese Christmas story about a bar girl (Ching Li) serving drinks to a man that looks like her husband from five years ago. She convinces him to fulfill her son's wishes of having the father he's never seen, show up for Christmas.

Three couples in Vienna have children at around the same time. They're all in their mid-30s, successful, cool and live in a popular part of town. As idealistic as they are materialistic, they grow tomatoes on the balcony, drink locally roasted coffee and expensive cocktails and would never buy an electronic device sporting a half-eaten apple. Between career and kindergarten, Apple and alternative lifestyles, the satire plays cleverly with hipster clichés and mercilessly points up the gap between the old self-image and the new bourgeoisie.

The branch of a bank in a small town is in bankruptcy. To regain the trust of the people, they offer the town's priest the position of Bank Manager, who in turn, begins to carry out all kinds of loans and social aid to the people.

The two Cheng sisters leave war-torn Shanghai for Hong Kong. They take on another guest along the way, and move in with their cousin in Hong Kong, now a close unit of four friends. Through highs and lows, they all learn to live with each other.

Lena (Park Gi Rim) is a Russian woman of Korean descent. Escaping a life of pain in Russia, she agrees to come to Korea as the bride of Soon Goo (Kim Jae Man), a farmer who lives in the rural countryside. Dealing with his own painful memories, Soon Goo is happy to just spend time with Lena as they go about their simple lives on the farm. But as Lena’s feelings for Soon Goo deepens, she finds it harder for her to stay.
