Thomas, in his forties, holds an important post in a slaughterhouse. He is engaged to Marie-Rose, the daughter of the director, whom he hopes to follow later. In a routine examination in the hospital, however, he finds out that he has cancer and his days are counted. The upheaval that he suffers as a result, however, does not take long, his decision is certain: he will use the short time to clean up some bad guys. What else can he do now?

This retrospective features both archival and 2017 interviews with cast and crew members. It includes interviews with CG supervisor Paul M. Sammon, executive producer Patrick Crowley, associate producer Phil Tippett, cinematographer Mark Irwin as well as actors Nancy Allen, Tom Noonan, and Galyn Görg. Sammon's 1989/90 interviews with producer Jon Davidson and director Irvin Kershner are excerpted. There is also vintage rehearsal and BTS footage.

Here is the story of the entire life of Nicolae Ceaușescu, a peasant's son who managed to become the most powerful man in Romania. Including original archival footage and historical re-enactments, the story is told by those who lived it, those who knew him intimately, followed him, served him and carried out his orders: fellow prisoners, " his 'double', personal assistants, his personal security men, those who accompanied him on foreign trips, his translator, advisers, diplomats and family members.
