A Lifeguard's Obsession

An obsessive young woman begins to believe that she's being haunted by the ghost of her recently missing best friend.

On vacation, a man wakes up in an abandoned motel room in a tub of ice and his kidney missing. He finds his wife in the adjacent room waiting to be the next victim to a horrible organ harvesting organization. Originally taking the vacation to work on their failing marriage, they must now set their differences aside to escape before their captors return and their dark secrets are revealed.

Reporter Judith Wilkes leaves her husband and two sons in Sydney and goes to Malaysia to cover the story of the Vietnamese boat people. She becomes romantically involved with Kanan, and strikes up a friendship with Lady Minou Hobday, who keeps a regular vigil at "Turtle Beach" where the refugees try to land secretly in the hope that one day her own children will arrive. Accompanying Minou one night, Judith witnesses a brutal massacre by the Malaysians which spurs her on to expose the horrors of the internment camps at Bidong.

An attractive married woman and a member of the 'Country Club Tennis Set', is being neglected by her workaholic doctor husband, Jerry (Corbin Bernsen). Lonely and insecure, Amy foolishly falls for the seductive charms of a much younger man, Steve Sterns (Nicholas Celozzi) who is introduced to Amy by her good friend, Sheila. The love affair is very brief, as she realizes that Steve has a dark, sinister and obsessive side to his personality, or is it personalities? Amy tries to break off the relationship, only to find that her adulterous lover has become her stalker. She also fears that Steve is responsible for the numerous brutal murders of local prostitutes.

Photographers Brooke Konrad and Tanner Behlman travel to rural, abandoned buildings to capture the inherent beauty of long-forgotten locations, but far from forgotten are the traumatic memories that surface in Brooke when they meet The Man Upstairs, an unsuspecting squatter. As tensions and uncertainties arise, Brooke must determine if this mysterious stranger will provide her the closure she so desperately seeks or let the fears of the past consume her.

PUTREFIXION: A Video of Nina Temich is the first feature to be entirely filmed on a 360 camera. Director David Torres utilizes the disorienting nature of a 360 lens to transform Mexico City, accentuate the ritual of dance, and open a new chapter of in-world-camera narratives. As Nina, model and dancer Dalia Xiuhcoatl controls the space and movement of the camera, giving this portrait of a young woman's brush with the supernatural a mesmerizing feminine energy.
