Racing for 7 Days in Spain - PYRENEES STAGE RUN

The Pyrenees Stage Run is a 7-day race along 220 km of the GR11. The course passes through 5 Natural Parks, starting and finishing in Catalonia, Spain while crossing the entire country of Andorra. Audrée and I teamed up for the event which is run in teams of either 2 or 3, and it would be her goal race for the season as I used it as a training run for my own. But this adventure would feel as much like a running vacation as anything else as we stayed in hotels and ate delicious food each day, making some new friends from around the world along the way.

Running one of the most scenic races in the world - EIGER ULTRA TRAIL 101K

In July of 2023, we travelled to the Swiss Alps where Audree would be running the Eiger Ultra Trail by UTMB, while I provided support. The 101 km course takes runners on a loop around Grindelwald at the foot of the Eiger, and it would prove to be one of the most scenic races in the world. But it turns out that Audrée's race wouldn't go as planned.

Racing in the Middle of the Atlantic Ocean - EPIC AZORES

The Azores Islands are a Portuguese archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. I visited in December of 2022 to run the 60k EPIC Azores trail race on Sao Miguel Island where I'd end up having to battle some pretty tough conditions. I then stayed for two weeks to soak in as much as I could of all the Islands have to offer, including its rugged coastlines, green pastures, lake-filled calderas, and local cuisine.

Beautiful but Brutal, Racing the Swiss Alps 100

The Swiss Alps 100 is truly a bucket list race, but the route is also extremely challenging and the summer heat in the Swiss Alps shouldn't be underestimated. I ran the race in July of 2024 with support from Audrée, as both a Hardrock 100 and Western States qualifier, as well as a prefererd qualifier for the Badwater 135. And it proved to be one of the most beautiful but difficult 100 mile races I've ever run.

Running the Tour du Mont Blanc in 4 Nights

The Tour Du Mont Blanc is one of the most popular and scenic long-distance routes in Europe. It passes through France, Italy and Switzerland while circumnavigating the Mont Blanc Massif, a distance of more than 170 km with 10,000 metres of elevation gain, plus descent. It's typically hiked in 10 or 11 days, but we'd be spending just 4 nights on the trail while travelling fast and light. This would be a training run for us in preparation for UTMB, a race that follows roughly the same route less than 3 weeks later. During the race we'd miss some of the best views while running at night, so this was our chance to really enjoy all that this incredible trail has to offer.
