Daredevil Kate

Buchanan's Wife

Soon after, Beatrix falsely identifies a body at the morgue as her husband's and marries Harry, but when Herbert, still alive though ill and demented, appears at her door with Kansas, she confesses her lie to her new husband. Kansas' plans to blackmail Beatrix are ruined when Harry visits the two tramps, and Herbert, now dying of tuberculosis, pleads with Kansas to leave the couple in peace. The Sleeping City

A young doctor taking a break from work is shot in the head, and the police can't find a clue even as to a possible motive. What Rowan finds is a high-pressure world in which interns are hopelessly squeezed for time, sleep, energy, and -- most of all -- money, and walk a fine line on the edge of personal and professional disaster.

One Day

An assassination attempt is made on the life of Paul I, the infant King of Veseria, by Stefan, a henchman of Pavlovitch, the Regent, who wishes to take over the kingdom. Paul's bodyguard, Dimitri, foils the plot, but Pavovitch is told the attempt was successful and proclaims himself King. Dimitri takes the boy king to England to the home of his rightful father, Paul Verdayne. Twenty years passes, and Pavovitch finds himself the ruler or a bankrupt and rebellious country. To save her father's throne, Opal, his daughter consents to becoming the bride of the Prince of Argone, an elderly man with a bad reputation.
