Ryan Pethrow
Ryan Pethrow is an artist born on January 20, 1982, in Sofia, Bulgaria, from a family with a strong academic background. His grandfather was renowned Bulgarian hematologist Professor Zdravko Georgiev. As a child, Ryan’s father left the family and moved to France, while his mother, Isabella Georgieva, worked as a translator. Ryan has a younger brother from the same parents and an older sister from his father’s side, whom he has never met. He is also aware of other siblings from his father’s side in France, though he has not contacted them. In 1986, during the Communist regime, Ryan’s father abandoned the family and fled to France. After the regime fell, his mother received an offer to work as a translator in Belgium. In 1990, Ryan, his brother, mother, and stepfather moved to Brussels, where Ryan developed a passion for video games, manga, and anime. He also took part in sports such as basketball, baseball, football, badminton, table tennis, archery, and rock climbing. It was during this period that Ryan discovered his love for acting, performing in school plays and portraying a variety of characters. Between 1991 and 1995, he appeared in several TV projects, films, and commercials. His acting continued with appearances in 2001, 2002, 2010, and 2012. After his time in Belgium, Ryan returned to Bulgaria with his family. Though his passion for acting remained strong, circumstances kept him from pursuing it for a while. In 2003, a biking accident resulted in a broken arm, halting his sports activities for years. In 2004, Ryan’s life changed with the birth of his son, who became his world. Fully embracing fatherhood, he focused on his family. In 2015, his grandmother Lilia Georgieva passed away suddenly, and in 2016, his mother also unexpectedly died. These losses had a profound effect on Ryan. In 2019, Ryan decided to reignite his acting career. He enrolled in a stunt course at the prestigious Nu Boyana Stunt Academy, led by renowned instructor Adam Horton. Located in Europe’s largest film studio, Nu Boyana Film Studios, it is known for iconic films like The Expendables and Olympus Has Fallen. After completing the course, Ryan continued honing his skills and appeared in commercials, films, and short films. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, his stunt training and many projects were put on hold. However, Ryan adapted by turning to social media, where his direct and unapologetic approach garnered attention. His authenticity and fresh perspective captivated audiences, and he integrated his acting skills into his sketches, engaging his growing fan base. In 2021, Ryan ventured into storytelling, creating a chilling horror story titled La balançoire (The Swing). Motivated by his passion for storytelling, he turned it into a compelling script for a short film. Looking ahead, Ryan hopes to direct and bring his visionary project to life. In 2022, Ryan appeared in 12 episodes of the Bulgarian TV show Sofia at Home. In 2023, he began writing three books simultaneously: two novels and a third chronicling his personal experiences with health challenges. He continues to appear in commercials. Ryan Pethrow’s artistic journey showcases his resilience and diverse talent. With a passion for the arts and a drive to leave a lasting impact, he continues to captivate audiences and is emerging as a force in the entertainment industry. Born : 20th-Jan-1982
