The Combat

Amir and Maryam plan to get married, but Maryam’s car crashes into a ravine, and newspapers report her as dead. Maryam’s cousin, Zari, who has feelings for Amir, secretly brings letters that Maryam writes to Amir and tries to get close to him. Maryam returns and discovers that Amir and Zari have developed feelings for each other. Makvandi tries to intimidate a school teacher into writing a song which he wants the students to sing on the day his "promotion" comes into effect. But the teacher refuses to give in, for he and his students are preparing to sing a new song, the song of revolution.
