The story spans from 1965 to the early 1970s. Heavily pregnant Zhao Di, the unwanted second wife of an older man, was chased out by her husband's family and forced to return to her own family. She gave birth to a pair of twins, Shun Fatt and Su-mei. As Su-mei had two moles on her face, which was said to be bad luck, she decided to give her up due to the pressure of wanting to build a better life for the rest of her family.

Meanwhile, Osman does not approve of his son playing in a rock band as he fears the negative influence, causing his son to run away from home. As for Ah Hee and Rani, they decide to get married but their traditional parents are against it.

Middle-aged woman - Zi Le (Romeo Tan) suffers from Tourette syndrome. As a child, his father passed away and his mother ran away, leaving him homeless and destitute. Da Wei (Ian Fang) takes pity on Zi Le and convinces his mother, An Qi (Ling Ling Pan), to take the latter in. Despite all his misfortunes, Zi Le always has a cheerful disposition, and An Qi named him Happy Prince. Zi Le learned baking from An Qi and eventually becomes good at it, even opening his own bakery with Da Wei. He also reunites with his childhood sweetheart Yu Wen (Paige Chua). His mother, Bi Qiu (Yun Xiang), suddenly returns to reunite with him. But all is not well when he discovers that Bi Qiu harbours an ulterior motive. When the bakery gets into trouble and Bi Qiu absconds with Zi Le's money, the Happy Prince finally breaks down - Can Zi Le stand against adversity one more time and continue to pursue his dreams?
