Phoebe Boswell

Phoebe Boswell is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in London. She studied painting at the Slade (2005) and 2D animation at Central St Martins (2009) and her work has since been exhibited globally. In 2016, she wrote and starred in the short film Dear Mr Shakespeare which was commissioned by the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign to commemorate 400 years since William Shakespeare’s death. Using animation and recorded interviews of eight other women of colour artists, ‘I Don’t Protest, I Just Dance In My Shadow’ is an abstract confessional from the director herself: a visualisation of the joy, frustration, wishes and dreams of what it feels like to be a black women and a woman of colour artist, creating and existing.
