Mohsen Tanabande is a director, writer, and actor who was born in 1975 in Tehran, Iran. He started his career in theater and starred as an actor in “Tiny Snowflakes” by Alireza Amini. He has won the Crystal Simorgh for Best First Role Actor for “Ferrari” by Alireza Davood Nezhad, “First Stone” by Ibrahim Forozesh and “7 Minutes to Fall” by Alireza Amini and also the Crystal Simorgh for Best Supporting Actor for “Nadarha” by Mohammadreza Arab and “A Petition for Allah” by Alireza Amini. From his notable activities, “Muhammad: The Messenger of God” by Majid Majidi, “Saint Petersburg” by Behrouz Afkhami, “Paytakht” series directed by Sirous Moghadam and “Shahgoosh” series by Davood Mirbagheri can be named. A Few Kilos of Dates for a Funeral

The film is set around three protagonists. Two run a gas station on the outskirts of town, on a road that gets next to no traffic anymore, and so they get next to no customers. They live and work out of a decrepit van on site, its windows covered in plastic. Sadry is a former strongman, now blind in one eye. He is the boss of the station. Yadi is his eager to please assistant, who usually annoys more than pleases. Finally there is the postman, Abbas, who longs to trade in his brakeless bicycle for a motorcycle, while he must care for his mentally ill brother.

Once Upon a Time Abadan

Muhammad: The Messenger of God

Muhammad: The Messenger of God is an 2015 Iranian film directed by Majid Majidi. The story revolves around the childhood of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The film marks Iran's biggest-budget production to date and is the first part of the planned trilogy on the life of the Prophet. Barring a few scenes filmed in South Africa, the majority of the filming was done at a colossal set created in the city of Qom near Tehran. The film was officially announced in October 2011 and its filming was completed by 2013. The cinematography is done by Vittorio Storaro and film score is composed by A. R. Rahman. The film was selected for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Oscar ceremony in 2016, but was excluded from the short list.
