Slovenian countryside in the 18th century. The future lord of the manor, Ožbej, falls in love with the new maid, Meta. His family, however, is opposed to the match and successfully plots to keep the young couple apart. Five children are born of their union, all of whom are looked upon as bastards by the manor folk. He played a mischievous writer who, in each episode, leads viewers into new intriguing stories of the human spirit. After the eighth part, he was replaced by Stevo Žigon due to his death. In 2013, the series was digitized and restored. After many years, it was then broadcast again, but not in the original order.
