Set at the end of the Singasari Kingdom and the rise of Kediri Kingdom; there are two siblings, Arya Dwipangga, who loves literature, and Arya Kamandanu, who loves martial arts. Dwipangga steals Kamandanu’s girlfriend and runs away but gets trapped in the cave of weapon master, Empu Ranubaya, who makes him a student. Ranubaya and Empu Hanggareksa, Kamandanu’s father, are fellow students from the same school. But while Hanggareksa serves Kartanegara, the king of Singasari; Ranubaya refuses to. A messenger of Kublai Khan from Mongolia offers Kertanegara a peaceful relationship. When Kertanegara refuses the offer, the Mongolian messenger kidnaps Ranubaya.

Tragedy strikes when a group of thugs slaughter two children and their mother and father. Then, out of nowhere, a ghost of a sinister, thuggish looking man appears and walks toward the woman's body. Later, a couple moves into the house and encounters the ghosts of the two children. Even worse, the murdered woman, possessed by the evil male spirit, has returned as a ghost/zombie who can invade people's dreams and kill them. She has a glove just like Freddy Krueger and she makes use of it quite frequently. She seeks out those who killed her and her family, taking vengeance on them. Brama Kumbara’s plan to build a royal resting place near his teacher’s grave is being obstructed by people from the Kuntala kingdom. They rally their people who live in Brama’s kingdom, Madangkara, and they manage to influence the regents of Madangkara through their wives. Then the regents stop obeying their leader. They also hire highly skilled villains to destroy the resting place. Brama is furious. With Mantili, he pursues all the rebels and exterminates the Kuntala people who are not loyal to Madangkara.

Saur Sepuh III: The Flower of Mount Lawu

Set during the kingdom of Majapahit after the reign of King Hayam Wuruk, the Saur Sepuh films were based on the popular radio plays in the 80s. Lasmini is raped and thrown into a ravine, but is saved by Granny Lawu. She is then taught martial arts until the granny dies. Then Lasmini leaves the mountain to find her rapists and kills them one by one. One day, she has a fight with Mantili because she is close to Bentar. Then Lasmini returns to Mount Lawu to improve her martial arts. After learning new skills, she returns to challenge all the martial arts experts and is victorious. Mantili then goes to improve his skills from Brama and challenges Lasmini. Now Lasmini is defeated.

Saur Sepuh V: The Sky Roof Palace

Buddhist monks Kampala (Golden Casmara) and Targhu (Hans Wanaghi) are traveling around seeking knowledge and expanding their martial arts skills in the lands they visit. Once they reach Malacca, they meet Datuk Saluntung (Baron Hermanto) and his wife Lasmini (Murti Sari Dewi). Upon learning that these two monks wish to meet Brama Kumbara (Fendy Pradana), Lasmini thinks she has found a way to take revenge. These two monks first meet up with Lasmini’s students in Jawadwipa. A fight ensues. Then Lasmini shows up and orders two of her students to report to Brama. The news that Lasmini has allied herself with two monks enrages Brama, but he is able to defeat them easily. Then Mantili (Elly Ermawatie) also becomes angry. However, Lasmini cannot be found. She disappeared after losing the battle. Brama then accepts a challenge by the two monks to test his martial arts skills against theirs. They battle for three days and nights, but nobody wins.

Saur Sepuh: The Knight of Madangkara

Set at the end of the Majapahit era, Bre Wirabhumi, son of Hayamwuruk, but born from a concubine, demands his right to be king of Majapahit. The kingdom is then ruled by Wikramawardhana, son-in-law of Hayamwuruk. To rival Majapahit, Bre Wirabhumi creates the Pamotan kingdom and looks for allies amongst other kingdoms. This creates confusion among the kingdoms friendly with Majapahit. Brama Kumbara (Fendy Pradana) from the Madangkara kingdom tries to settle the dispute. What happens instead is a misunderstanding that leads to the death of Brama’s envoy. Even worst, the lover of the murderer, Lasmini (Murti Sari Dewi), takes revenge by kidnapping Brama’s wife. The conflict then escalates into the Paregreg war between Majapahit and Pamotan.

Lima Harimau Nusantara

The story of the efforts of the military commanders of the Singosari Kingdom to prevent the influx of Khubilai Khan’s forces from Mongolia. Five well known warriors, Larang Jagad (Baron Hermanto), Banggokantera (Atin Martino), Kuda Merta (Luthi Tambayong), Galigo (Jack Maland) and Rangga Sakti, who are collectively known as the Five Tigers, or Lima Harimau Nusantara, are called in to help. They go to battle against Penyebar Racun (Risma Salmon), Jubah Merah (Arthur Kaunang) and Kodok Salju (Jabol Mora). The Five Tigers are so powerful that Khubilai Khan’s forces are beaten back and return to their homeland in defeat.
