Alan Gelfant (born May 21, 1957 in Syracuse, New York) is an American film actor. Alan Gelfant has acted in more than 50 plays and dozens of TV shows and movies, including leading roles in the films Next Stop Wonderland, The Destiny of Marty Fine, Men in Scoring Position, Turn of Faith and highly acclaimed documentary Hero. As a director, he has put his interest in new plays. Consequently, he is the co-founder of the annual Stella Adler Theatre - One Act Play Festival in Los Angeles. He was hired by HBO to direct and co-write Colin Quinn’s one man show The Seven acraments. In the Upper Valley area of New Hampshire and Vermont, Gelfant has produced, directed and acted in performances at the Parish Players, playing Eddie Carbone in A View From The Bridge. Besides professional acting and directing for TV, movies and the stage, Alan Gelfant teaches acting, playwriting and filmmaking at high schools. Currently, he is a teacher and tutor in Writing and Rhetoric Program of Cultural Studies at Dartmouth College, focusing on research and study in making documentary films for educational use. Who's the Caboose?

A documentary team gets a grant to do a film on a rare fatal disease that is attacking homeless people. However, they quickly find the film too depressing. Ducking into a nightclub, they discover a young Manhattan comedienne and decide instead to follow her as she makes the circuit of auditions in L.A. as she tries to get a TV pilot. Unfortunately, she has failed to tell her boyfriend of this move. He decides he will trail her out west. There, the boyfriend runs into an old friend who has already made a break on a TV pilot. Seizing the opportunity, the actress turns her attentions to the established actor. However, the actress goes nowhere in auditions, but her ex-boyfriend is suddenly noticed and becomes the next hot prospect.

Desert Saints

Banks is a hit man, the best, usually working for Latin American drug cartels. He picks up solitary women, uses them briefly for a job, then kills them. The film follows three tracks: Banks's slow recruitment of Bennie, the set-up for the hit at a swank resort in Mexico, and the FBI's close pursuit of Banks, whom they want alive in hopes he'll rat out his bosses. Bennie may not be who she seems, and there may be a chink in Banks's tough-guy armor. Guns, money, and a chance at Paradise.
