Rübezahl - Master of the Mountains

Seit 999 Jahre lebt der Berggeist Rübezahl tief unter der Erde im Riesengebirge. Niemand hat ihn seither gesehen. Doch als er erfährt, dass die Menschen nicht mehr an ihn glauben und dass Habgier und Ungerechtigkeit herrschen, steigt der Herr der Berge hinab ins Tal, um den Menschen mit seinen Zauberkräften eine Lektion zu erteilen. Einen Knecht, der sein altes Pferd zu Tode schindet, spannt er vor den Wagen und gibt ihm die Peitsche. Das Gold des reichen und geizigen Vetters Klaus verwandelt der Berggeist in Steine. Auf seiner Wanderung hungrig geworden, kehrt Rübezahl in Gestalt eines Fuhrmanns in einen Gasthof ein. Als der gefräßige Wirt ihm vor lauter Gier die Hälfte der bestellten Rühreier vom Teller nascht, fordert Rübezahl die bereits bezahlten Eier zurück...

Once upon a time, there had been a tailor who send his three sons out into the world, so that they might find fortune and learn something proper. The oldest went to a carpenter and was gifted a small table at the end of his apprenticeship. It set itself with all kinds of delicacies when ordered to. When he visits a hostelry, however, he gets cheated from the table by the innkeeper. The second son became the apprentice to a miller and received a donkey as a parting gift which could spew gold. But he as well got cheated out of the wages of his apprenticeship by the criminal innkeeper. The third son received from his lathe worker master conveniently a club as a parting gift. Spontaneously, he helps his brothers to their right and the thievish innkeeper experiences a bad surprise.

At the age of three, little Wolfgang has lost his parents. Since then his uncle Eduard raises the boy. As a former concertmaster Eduard has recognized how gifted his nephew is and the boy learns the hard way. The 6-year-old must practice daily 6 hours at the piano and already impresses at famous music parties. When Eduard Fabricius breaks a leg after a concert in Lucerne and must go to the hospital, he can be persuaded by a pediatrician to grant some carefree vacation weeks in a manor for Wolfgang. The manor belongs to the young widow Elisabeth who soon grows very fond of the little boy. Wolfgang makes friends with 11-year-old Heidi and Jöggi, a boy his age who first saw a rival in him...

- Room 222 is an American comedy-drama television series produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The series aired on ABC for 112 episodes from September 17, 1969 until January 11, 1974. The show was broadcast on Wednesday evenings at 9:00 for its first two seasons before settling into its best-remembered time slot of Friday evenings at 9:00, following The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family, and preceding The Odd Couple and Love, American Style. In 1970, Room 222 earned Emmy Awards in three categories: Outstanding New Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
