Blanca de Silos

María de las Nieves Silos y López de la Calle, considerada como la actriz española de la posguerra, que empleó el nombre artístico de Blanca de Silos, falleció en Segovia, ayer, viernes, cuando contaba con 88 años. Su corta carrera profesional de apenas 20 años, que alcanzó su punto máximo con Mariona Rebull, de José Luis Sáenz de Heredia, en 1947, comenzó en el teatro a las órdenes del actor y director Luis Escobar, en plena guerra civil, en una Segovia, cuna de militares, que Dionisio Ridruejo proclamó por decreto como 'la ciudad de los autos sacramentales'. Después de su paso por las compañías del Teatro Nacional y María Guerrero, debutó en las pantallas del llamado cinematógrafo con el Frente de Madrid (1939), de Edgar Neville, y hasta tuvo un papel importante en Raza, con un guión del entonces jefe del Estado, Francisco Franco, que firmaba bajo el seudónimo de Jaime de Andrade. Protagonizó una docena de películas, como En un rincón de España (1948), de Jerónimo Miura, la primera película en color realizada con un sistema con patente española; y trabajó con actores de la categoría de José Nieto, Raúl Cancio o Guadalupe Muñoz Sampedro, siendo dirigida por Florián Rey, Antonio Román, Luis Marquina o Jerónimo Miura, entre otros. Retirada prácticamente de la profesión a finales de la década de los años cuarenta, Blanca de Silos volvió a las pantallas con papeles secundarios, hasta su última película, Sábado en la playa (1967), dirigida por Esteban Farré, protagonizada por Vicente Parra. Con motivo del centenario del cine español, en 1996, la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España le entregó una de las 46 medallas que concedió en esta efemérides, en el apartado de interpretación. Blanca de Silos, cuyos restos recibirán sepultura hoy, sábado, en el cementerio segoviano, estuvo casada con Max von Kettemburg, con quien tuvo dos hijos. Born : 4th-Aug-1914
