Brian Reece

Brian Reece was an English film and radio actor. To BBC radio audiences he was widely known for playing Police Constable Archibald Berkeley-Willoughby in over 100 episodes of PC 49 between 1947-53. He transferred the role to the feature film A Case for PC 49 in 1951. The Stage recorded the cause of his death at the age of 48 in 1962 as being the result of a bone infection which had been ongoing for over 2 years. He died in hospital in Westminster, London. In this British comedy, two drunken comrades find out the truth of that saying when they decide to trade places for a while. One of the boozers is a public relations man who knows nothing about sailing, while the other is a captain for the Royal Navy. Comic mayhem ensues as the hapless "captain" tries to run his ship and follow orders.
